Here's an interesting way of looking at things.
A man's ability to enjoy pain is his greatest accomplishment and skill.
Because on either end of that equation there is going to be pain involved. Let me give you an example.
The Pain of the Gym
It is painful to go to the gym and work your ass off to get strong.
But most people avoid this pain.
So then they deal with the pain of being a weakling. They get to live with the pain of being insignificant and ineffectual.
Most people avoid the pain of working out but are somehow quite comfortable with the pain of being weak.
But regardless they are going to endure that pain.
The Pain of Building
In order to be a successful entrepreneur or investor you're going to have to endure a shit ton of pain.
But if you don't endure that pain you will have to live with the pain of living paycheck to paycheck and having another grown ass man telling you what to do.
Pain either way.
Endure It in Style
I believe it's a man's ability to choose his pain and learning how to endure it in style that is literally the key to the kingdom.
If you are a miserable cunt while enduring pain like a goddamn woman.... then that's not really enduring the pain in style.
Women are not very good at enduring pain without bringing everybody else into the fucking mix with them. But a man if he's worth his salt.... everyone around him won't even know the pain he's going through.
Nobody Gives a Fuck
Because as a man let me tell you....
No matter what your wife says or the news says or your therapist says or what anybody fucking says.... nobody gives a fuck about you bro. In fact nobody wants to hear it.
People only care about your performance. How you make them feel and what you're doing for them.
This does not make them bad people whatsoever. It is just the nature of the game.
And you my friend got to deal with this.
In style.
Through the Ringer
I have learned so much over the last few years and I've only been able to learn what I've learned by putting myself through the ringer.
I truly believe there's no other way. And if there was it certainly wouldn't be very valuable.
But when you see for yourself what you can endure, when you know firsthand what you can take and taking it with a smile.... while everyone else caves and quits and bitches and blames....
That's worth pursuing.
A Man Worth His Weight
Any man worth his weight in gold.... pursues his pain wisely.
He doesn't run from it. He doesn't pretend it away. He doesn't booze and drug his way into oblivion.
He faces it, endures it, and figures it out. And moves on to the next pursuit of pain.
The unconscious ones seek pleasure and seek to avoid pain, but it never dawns on them what they are actually pursuing.
The Greatest Pain
The pain of living a life not worth living is the greatest pain of all.
That's a pain I just can't endure.
The pain of living a lie, living out yet another falsehood.... that's too much pain for me.
So I would rather choose my pain wisely.
Why We Do It
And as a man do you know why we choose our pain wisely?
There is always interwoven a select amount of self-interest no matter what. We do what we do for ourselves first and foremost.
But when you have children, a wife you deeply love, a family and people that count on you....
You do it so you can open up more and more degrees of freedom for them. You do it to protect and serve the people you care about.
That is the true quality of a man.
Those with ears.
As Above.
