Time for a break... Lord, I’m telling you it takes a toll on your headspace when you are dealing with a dozen or so extremely cognitive intensive projects, where you have to switch back and forth... I do not suggest it.
Our brains were not meant for multitasking and switching up like this. Even though I have an abnormal brain it seems, and I can process and handle many cognitive loads at a time, it still is not a best practice for the machinery or for the physical body itself. No matter how well you handle it psychologically, the physicality of it all takes its toll.
And here’s the thing I deeply want to reiterate to all the men out there, especially aspiring entrepreneurs, but really I consider this a strong message for anybody that wants to be a legitimate head of the household.
And I don’t want anybody to take this the wrong way, because I don’t want the message lost in translation.
There has been this modern day mind virus put out there that basically advises men to talk about their feelings, to share their feelings, to get in touch with their feelings.
And I’m going to give it to you as straight as a Robin Hood arrow.
As a man, as the head of the household, as a husband and a father... you need to shut the fuck up and suck it up.
Nobody gives a fuck about your feelings and how bad you have it. Not your wife, not your kids, not even your best friend. I’m dead serious, no matter what anybody says or how they try to console you.
And this has nothing to do with them. This is not a knock against the people in our lives. So let me explain a bit further.
As a man, our primary and sole duty is to protect and shield our loved ones, our wife, our children, our parents and all the people we take care of, from any sort of anxiety or physical threat or economic condition or anything that threatens their ability to enjoy life and capitalize on their opportunities.
Your loved ones get to vent, they get to be emotional, they get to cry on your shoulder and confide in you all of their deepest fears and anxieties.
But you don’t get that luxury... Not if you want to be a real MAN.
You need to be the rock that everybody else relies upon and crashes into. The one thing in their lives that they can bet their bottom dollar on. The one unmovable and unshakable and unbreakable foundation that they can count on and, if necessary, hide behind.
You don’t get to come back and vent about how bad you have it. You don’t get to come back to the house after a stressful day and bitch and moan and spread negativity like a shitty lightning bolt across the family sky.
Everyday is a great day, everyday is good... And everything is more than fine.
And you do this not because you’re trying to pretend or portray a false figure. This isn’t about bullshitting. This is about psychopathically believing it so much that you actually make it happen. That you are so clear about what is going on that no matter what the season or condition or the impending doom at hand, you are able and agile and resilient enough to figure it out and be better off than before.
No matter how big the problem or how threatening the enemies are at the gates... you know that you have what it takes to take care of business.
So fuck all these sunshine soldiers... And broken boys playing with toys in Never Never Land... Let the dead bury the dead.
Cultivate an unbreakable and unshakable foundation.
And you can only do this by discovering and figuring your own self out of all of this bullshit and chaos and delusions of grandeur. Because if you don’t, one day a bigger dog is going to come to your front door and he’s going to eat your fucking lunch.
Discover yourself a treasure that no moth or rust can corrupt. Develop, and build on that head corner stone.
Because nobody’s coming to save your day, and I mean nobody. Nobody is going to complete you and nobody is going to make your day brighter.
It’s ALL on YOU!
Which is the greatest gift and the greatest truth ever told.
Because... if it’s all on you... then guess what?
You can actually do something about it.
As above, so below
